Getting married in the city center has its drawbacks, if you’re looking to house a larger number of guests. Finding somewhere large but not imposing, modern but not clinical, and convenient yet private can be a tricky task indeed.
The Kings Fund is a classic, sophisticated venue right in the heart of London and overlooking Cavendish Square. The décor is so tasteful it is sure to please even the most easily wrinkled of noses, and it doesn’t cost anywhere near as much as it looks like it should. The ceremony room (licensed, of course) is filled with natural light, brightly coloured paintings and attention to detail that adds a healthy dose of English charm.
You can then have your feast under a skylight, surrounded by wood, marble and plants. This is a botanical and organic, yet urban and contemporary space. Once the sun goes down, the lighting is flattering and intelligent, and an atmosphere of stylish city partying descends, but that doesn’t mean you can’t sneak off to The Orangery to take a few classic and artistic snapshots for those all-important wedding photos.
