Vintner's Hall
Carrie

Vintner’s Hall is a spectacular events venue suitable for wedding receptions, corporate functions, receptions, conferences and meetings.   The building itself is steeped in history, and has played an enormous role in being the hub of the import, regulation and sale of wine in the UK since the 1300s.  Now, the company continues to have strong influence within the UK Wine Trade, and Vintners’ Hall has become affectionately known in the business as the trade’s ‘spiritual home’.  There are 5 function rooms available for hire here, as well as a charming roof garden.

The Court Room is one of the oldest events spaces in London, and has only recently been made available for hire.  The room contains many rare and fascinating artefacts, including a fine painting of St Martin dividing his cloak with the Beggar, and ancient Royal portraits.  Rich mahogany wall panels give this space a real feeling of luxury and warmth.  Seating 50 for dinner around a U-shaped table, this is a space for more sombre affairs and not available for parties.  However, if it’s private dining or a meeting for important clients you’re arranging, this space is certain to make quite an impression.

For banquets and lavish celebrations, The Livery Hall was specifically designed in the 1600’s to house wine tastings and networking events for up to 250 people.  A fabulous gold-leaf decorated ceiling pairs with enormous windows, crystal chandeliers, a beautiful carpet and ornate wooden wall carvings – making this room utterly English and irresistible to those with expensive taste and an eye for detail!

The Boardroom is simple and elegant, and provides a sophisticated Edwardian ambiance for smaller events of up to 25 people.  Walnut on the walls and beautiful read leather armchairs make this a real ‘power space’, ideal for brainstorms and private meetings.  With direct access on to the Roof Terrace, which boasts fabulous views over the City of London, this room also offers the flexibility in summer months to indulge in a little al fresco refreshment.

The Drawing Room is a wine-lover’s paradise.  Containing a collection of porcelain and enamel wine labels, as well as ancient clocks and the first deed for the Hall dated 1352, this room is perfect for a drinks and canapé reception and offers exceptional talking points.

The Gassiot Room and Swan Room offer a versatile space for business functions, with the opportunity to hire the entire suite out for up to 65 people standing.  Part of the 1990s redevelopment, these rooms boast lovely original features whilst offering 21st century conveniences.  The fireplace in the Gassiot Room bears the date 1899; the other in the Swan Room is dated 1992.  A fine collection of antique bottles and decanters is also on display, as well as quite amazing paintings depicting significant events of the last 100 years in London.  The adjoining Swan Room is certainly where you’d choose to take refreshment and use as a break out area, and this room prominently features three false arches.  Always guaranteed a nice view, they are fake windows, with paintings of scenes on the Thames at different times in the hall’s history.  They are so exquisitely detailed that you’ll feel you’re looking out onto London itself, and the temperature control in these modernized rooms allows you to disguise the weather outside even further.

While all the rooms here have built-in sound systems and The Livery Hall houses its own (good quality) PA, all the other AV equipment you may need must be sourced from elsewhere.   This is easily done and Vintner’s Hall have reliable connections with companies that can provide you with gadgetry, catering and staff services.  Contact Best Venues London to book Vintner’s Hall for 2014!
