Quirky venue in Islington
Carrie

Hidden away at the back of Angel Station, you will find The Islington Metalworks.  This, truly, is a completely unique and quirky venue, imbued in history and oozing in style and urban panache.

It was originally built in the late 1800’s and used to house the working horses, which pulled the trams for London Transport.  In 1925, it was renovated and turned into a metal works, and this part of the business is still going today. You have limitless options and freedom to create something unforgettably special here.  The possibilities for a theatrical, eccentric or artistic wedding really are endless.

Along with weddings, the venue also hosts club nights, gigs, exhibitions, fashion shows, as a film location, and for corporate parties on a regular basis  – so as you can imagine, comes fully kitted out with all the lighting and other electrical goodies your heart could desire.

The venue is fully licensed, and the whole ground floor is available to hire.  The venue has called this open space The Courtyard.  Within The Courtyard, there are three bars and a club area, which can either be hired separately or as one large space – depending on the number of people attending.  The capacity for the entire space is 500 people.

Perhaps the most unusual space in The Courtyard is the Tube Carriage Cocktail Bar, the main features of which being huge real parts of London’s iconic tube trains, jutting out of the walls and providing a spectacular backdrop.  As mentioned before, this space can be used independently (as can the other two bars) or in conjunction with the other bars and club area, which are blank canvases, and have beautiful exposed original brickwork and stone floors.

An experienced and professional kitchen team is on site, and alongside their state of the art cooking facilities, they can offer you some really exquisite food.  A stylish indoor barbecue area is also available!

If you’ve always wanted a wedding with quirk, style and real individuality, we highly recommend a site visit to The Islington Metalworks.  The experienced team at the venue can offer a wealth of ideas and how to execute them, and they say the whackier the better.
