Avenue House is a Grade II listed building in the heart of Finchley, with a fascinating history, its buildings have something to offer everyone.
Built in 1859 by Rev. Edward Cooper and then enlarged and renovated in 1874 by Henry “Inky” Stephens, Avenue House is a wonderful Victorian mansion with rooms overlooking the Gardens.
In 1989 the east wing of the house was gutted by fire, but it has been restored to its former condition. The house is now a meetings and events venue, while the gardens and arboretum are open to the public.

The Dining Room
The Dining Room is located on the West side of the building and has a very distinct Victorian feel. It is a room that would have been used extensively when the House was lived in; this is what gives it its uniqueness. In the Dining Room we cater for formal meals or meetings. With a large single table it is ideal for board meetings.
The Drawing Room
Within the wonderful setting of the Drawing Room your reception can look glamorous and stylish with consummate ease. Or if you plan on having a conference or seminar for your business there is plenty of room for up to 70 guests. If you plan on having your reception here at Stephens House & Gardens we will make sure it is one of the most memorable days of your life.
The Salon
With gorgeous bay windows that overlook the lower green, the Salon is truly a light and bright room. The Salon is principally used for ceremonies as it offers the most magical look. As well as ceremonies the Salon is perfect for that work party you have been planning or for a small reception after your ceremony. The Salon is a very versatile room with many different uses to enhance your enjoyment.
Stephen’s Room
Having been recently renovated, the Stephens Room is now a light and bright room with space for conferences and meetings, it makes an interesting alternative to, or compliments, the other rooms in the house.
The Study Room
Set to the rear of the House away from the other conference suites the Study is a perfect location for a meeting that would like a quiet and reflective space. With the room seating up to 20 people it is a great venue for charities, small businesses and organisations.
