Tips for a great party
Carrie

If you’re having a party, you’ll want everything to go how you would ideally like. You hope everyone remembers the evening for all the right reasons, and talk about it for years to come. Here are some tips on how to make your party really memorable.

•      Make it about you. Choose the music you like, perhaps have a theme that reflects your personality, and state your name boldly on the invitations. Make it very clear who’s party it is!

•      If you have space in your budget, you might want to consider hiring your own glasses. If you’re having a themed party in a pub function room, they will usually be happy to pour the drinks into whatever you provide – this gives you an opportunity to really personalize and bring out the theme.

•      Think about lighting. It’s quick and simple to just change a few lightbulbs, and bringing your colours to the venue will immediately create a more personal atmosphere.

•       If you’re having a fancy dress party, don’t be embarrassed to ask the bar staff to throw on a few items of costume. Bring some accessories for them, but remember, they are working so it has to be practical. You’d be surprised how good humoured people can be about this kind of thing, but don’t pressure them into it if they don’t want to.
