Founded in 1775, Royal Thames Yacht Club is the oldest of its kind in the world. Its Knightsbridge HQ, which operates as a private members’ club, is – as you’d expect – packed to the gunwales with history, but the flexibility of the building’s interconnecting function rooms is another selling point for events.
The largest of the spaces, the Coffee Room Restaurant, with its floor-to-ceiling windows and a view over Hyde Park, holds up to 120 for a reception or, combined with the Mountbatten Suite, up to 174 seated and 220 standing guests.
A range of smaller rooms, including the handsome Queenborough and Library, are better suited to boardroom meetings. For alfresco drinks receptions, the Britannia Bar has a lovely deck.
