Corporate events at The Cumberland Hotel
Carrie

The Cumberland Hotel is one of London’s most sought-after corporate venues.  Offering a grand total of 26 event spaces and meeting rooms, this contemporary and progressive hotel is one of the largest of its kind in the city – and is purpose-designed for hosting conferences, both large and small meetings, weddings, and lavish corporate receptions.

The Ocean Room provides 414m2 of space, and holds a maximum of 350 people in theatre style.  This room has an unusual ‘wave-form’ ceiling that gives a feeling of intimacy (and some architectural interest) to the expansive space, while also helping to achive excellent acoustics.  You also have an instant branding tool in the form of the rooms ‘light-walls’ – a simple placement of led lights in the frosted glass walls that are able to instantly change colour across almost the entire spectrum.  You can keep them in one block colour, chop and change with shades, or even have them gradually changing during your event for a really atmospheric mood.  The fixed stage is simple but perfectly formed, and there’s a separate and soundproofed AV control booth with a large adjoining storage room.

The Cumberland boasts a private in-house AV manager, and it’s easy to see why when you realize just how much equipment is available and running here.  You can safely assume that all the standard gear needed for modern conferencing comes with the price of your room hire – HD projector & Screen, WiFi, stationary, staging equipment with lighting and sound, etc.  the simple fact is that The Cumberland have a wealth of experience in hosting events, and have learned exactly what is required in terms of facilities, services and events spaces for holding a successful function.

Also, it’s in one of the best locations in the city.  It’s on Oxford St and close to Hyde Park, thus making it a popular destination for celebrities.  Jimi Hendrix gave his last ever interview here, and the hotel has built a suite dedicated to his memory that would drive any industry professional or music-mad newlyweds to their knees with excitement.

For catering within easy reach of the Ocean Room, there’s The Forum – a ready-made private café that can create bespoke menus for your event, and even theme the space with your brand colours and logos. Like the rest of the venue, it is contemporary and minimalist yet inviting and comfortable.

For evening receptions or just a place to unwind with colleagues after a successful event, The Carbon Bar serves as the hotels own lively little nightspot.  With a relaxed atmosphere, moody lighting and oversized leather seats, you’ll find an eclectic menu of wines, beers and champagne cocktails, with a creative and tempting bar snack menu.  By the way, if you were looking for a good hearty breakfast before your day begins, the Cumberland Brasserie is ideal for a quick cup of coffee and a filling meal within yards of your event space.  There are also several private dining space available here, but these are extremely popular and have to be booked well in advance.

Naturally, the bedrooms here are stunningly beautiful and perfectly appointed for business travellers, and there are several luxury suites should you wish to accommodate a particularly important client!
