Islington Metalworks – one of London’s most unusual and atmospheric wedding venues
Carrie

Islington Metalworks is one of London’s best-kept secret wedding venues.  This totally unusual, beautifully bizarre and
fantastically flexible building has been restored and redecorated to celebrate its former 19th century industrial glory, while also introducing thoroughly modern and unique design elements.

Set over three equally impressive floors, this venue has served all manner of purposes in its 200 odd years of service – including housing horses for the trams of London until 1925, when it was converted into a metal works, and this side of the business is in operation today.  Now, however, the rooms have been adapted to serve as versatile and stylish events spaces.

The Metalworks is tucked behind Angel Station, and regularly plays host to club nights, alternative gigs, unusual exhibitions, modernist fashion shows, lavish corporate parties and film crews looking for a quirky, ready-made set.

The ground floor boasts three fully functioning bars, and features peculiar lighting systems and decorations that come together to create vibrant splashes of colour, stunning 3D effects and a really atmospheric ambience.

A well-equipped kitchen is available on site for self-catering events, and the Restaurant can seat 120 for a sit-down meal.  Barbecues are also welcomed all year round, as the BBQ area is both sheltered and warm!  We recommend that you let the venue take care of the food, because if you do, the Metalworks can be hired at just a minimum spend, as opposed to the much chunkier hire price.

Live bands and DJs are well taken care of with the Turbosound Highlite system, and you can even arrange for fireworks to be let off from one of the outdoor areas!
