This is a truly brilliant venue. It’s quite intimate, holding a maximum of 350 people, and you have everything you need for a successful live music all set up, ready to go, and lovingly looked after and maintained for guaranteed efficiency. Sundial Court is in a semi-residential area, which makes a welcome change from the huge array of warehouse-style venues that offer the same facilities. There’s no sense of isolation here, and it’s incredibly easy to find your way to the nearest transport links. However, because the venue is set in an enormous, soundproofed basement room, you can have the music of your choice played loudly, and until 2am, without disturbing those around you.

There’s a 5000 watt sound system here, which is a serious amount of noise for a smaller venue. The speakers are excellent quality and are able to handle anything from deep electronica to heavy metal with a crisp, clear and undistorted sound. While you have more than enough space on the raised stage for a band of up to 8 people (with room for instruments, wires etc. left over), there’s also the option to clear the stage and use it as extra dancing space, and for your musician to take up residence in the ready-made DJ booth. Top quality decks and monitors are already in place as well as an iPod dock, and even the most discerning of DJ is certain to be happy with the resident gear at Sundial Court.
Providing an ideal space for product launch parties, after-show events and private celebrations, you can also customize this venue to suit your brand, style or theme. The ambient lighting system comes in a variety of colours, which can either be gradually changed throughout the evening or set to one shade of your choice. There’s a large and well-stocked bar, a secure private entrance and a sizeable cobbled courtyard where smoking is permitted.

While at most venues you’d have to have your music approved by management to deem it non-offensive and suitable, you can let your hair down at Sundial Court. This place has seen everything from punk to funk – and whatever you say, goes. The options for lighting up your dance floor are extensive – you can choose to be as subtle or as extravagant as you wish, and you’ll be able to choose between a variety of lasers, disco balls, interactive beam lighting and traditional mirror ball effects.

Even more flexibility is offered in terms of furniture and seating areas. There are a few leather sofas and tables near the bar, but you have dozens of tables and chairs at your disposal that you can place around the venue as you see fit. Being a perfectly rectangular room, most people opt to place tables and chairs around the perimeter of the space, but this venue also looks great with the tables and chairs laid out in a casual cabaret style.
