Quirky blank canvas venue in London
Carrie

Netil House is a stunning example of how a little innovation, determination and purpose can rescue a building and breath life back into it.  This space has been transformed from an ugly abandoned college and council offices, into a modern and beautiful thriving hub of arts, crafts, music and film.  This venue is immediately inspiring and due to its original purpose of holding and facilitating hundreds of people for multiple functions, offers enormous blank canvas spaces as well as smaller, more intimate offices and studios.

It is often used by budding artists due to some of the more affordable studios on offer, to create their collections whilst bathed in natural light from the period windows, and with minimal disturbance.  While it has a convenient location in trendy Hackney, the rooms still feel incredibly private and quiet.

Fashion designers often hold pop-up shops and viewings here, while the high ceilings and flat floors provide a tempting rehearsal space for acrobats, circus acts and large-scale performance art.

Netil House even provides a versatile outdoor space – the stunning Rooftop Bar, which has unrivalled 360 degree views over the London skyline, as well as a private bar, toilet facilities and furniture.  It’s a great place for an evening after party, or as a daytime photographic location against the urban backdrop.

This venue also has a completely unique quirk.  It features its very own market, which provides both retail stalls and dedicated performance areas for artists and designers to display and sell their works.  The atmosphere is electric, and even just browsing through is a fantastic experience.  It’s an inspiring stroll on your lunch break from a creative morning, and a chance for you to get on the ladder by having your own stall.  The market attracts like minded people from all over London, and has managed to establish a good name for itself in the 2 years it’s been open.
