The London Welsh Centre – meeting and conference venue in Camden
Carrie

Providing both affordable and efficient facilities for rehearsals, small conferences, creative sessions and private events, The London Welsh Centre offers you the chance to dry hire a large space in an accessible location, that is easily adaptable to suit more unusual requirements.

The Centre is a charitable organisation which aims to promote Welsh culture and language in Camden.  A hugely important hub for the community, this flexible and spacious building is also a welcoming and accommodating place in which to host a function.  There’s also a public bar here that would bring any patriotic Welshman to his knees – you can buy Brains Beer, and even eat Jones Crisps! This means very little to your average Londoner, but you can believe us when we say that this place is well worth a visit if you’ve ever been curious about the common food & drink enjoyed by the people of the Valleys.

The bar can also be hired for private parties – an ideal place to host a surprise bash for a homesick friend.  As it is usually a public space, however, this needs to be done well in advance (find out more here).  You’ll find a double height ceiling with exposed beams, rich red velvet curtains, a long bar and plenty of both mobile and fixed seating, as well as a large area for a dance floor.  Regularly hosting gigs and quiz nights, this room is no stranger to noise and actively encourages partying until midnight!

Also excellent for corporate events, there’s a large blank wall which is perfect for rigging up a projector & screen, as well as an array of flip charts and stationary that you can hire at a miniscule extra cost.

The rest of the Centre features 3 small meeting rooms, able to host 2 to 10 people.  Basic but not sparse, these functional and comfortable rooms are available by the hour and are completely dry hire.  As with the Bar, you can hire flip charts, stationary etc, for a small price, but you certainly won’t find any flashy technology here – although, there are plenty of power points should you wish to bring equipment with you.

The largest events space is The Main Hall, which is often used by large theatrical companies for rehearsals and auditions, due to the sprung floor, fixed stage, and brilliant price tag.  This 17.4 x 10.6 metre room is an ideal blank canvas for events, but comes with no additional technologies – the PA and AV gear needs to be arranged by the host, although there is an HD screen & projector available to hire for just £50.

There are also 2 smaller rehearsal studios on the lower ground floor, both of which come with a piano and all the other basic materials needed for creative companies to work.

Chairs are just about the only thing provided here.  For tea and coffee breaks, you can either bring your own drinks, cups and snacks (there are no limits to how simple or extravagant you can be, but it’s vital you remember to provide your own cups!), or pay a small price to have the venue arrange and serve all of it for you.

When you consider that a full 5 days of hire costs a mere £900 at The London Welsh Centre, it’s easy to see why this venue is in such high demand.  Usually booked well in advance, Best Venues London are kept up to date with last minute cancellations and special offers here – so call us today to see if we can bag you an even bigger bargain!
