Lauderdale House is situated in Highgate Hill, and has achieved the perfect balance between city centre setting and comfortable country retreat. The hubub of the capital feels a million miles away here, and this flexible venue has hosted a range of events – from corporate functions to weddings, and exhibitions to private concerts.
The Meeting Room is on the second floor, and at the front of the historic house – with its own private corridor, it is a quiet and private space. The park location is an added bonus, and offers green and creative spaces for breaks and to stretch the legs. Access is through the art galleries, and this space is often in use as an exhibition room, so it has plenty of natural light and a clean, modern feel to it.
Wi-Fi is provided, as is the use of a flipchart, tables, chairs and also water and juice. Catering can be arranged on site, and can be brought to the meeting room or served in the café, which also has a charming al fresco space for dining.
As a wedding venue, this building offers masses of character and very adaptable spaces, and the combination of the stunning location with the historical detail of the house gives you amazing photo opportunities.
It’s the perfect place for a chic, London wedding – easily accessible, but feels a hundred miles away from the noise and smoke of the city. The venue is licensed to host civil ceremonies and civil partnerships, and offers your guests the chance to really dine in style, along with the temptation of a tinkle on their 6ft Steinway grand piano!
Lauderdale House is, as mentioned previously, usually used as an arts venue, and the purpose has always been to champion new and developing artists. There are three different galleries available to hire, each oozing with character. The Lower Gallery mixes wooden beams and brickwork with paneling and grand columns, and the Upper Gallery has white walls, and an unusual Georgian glass cupola! It bathes the open stairwell with natural daylight, and the rustic Tudor Long Gallery provides stunning views over Waterlow Park.
