Unique venue for all types of events

The Ahoy Charity Sailing Centre provides a perfect opportunity for some new, exciting team-building as well as space for training, brainstorms and seminars.  By booking your away day here, you are also helping to support an admirable charity that changes the lives of young people and disabled people in London.

The team-building days here reflect the organisation’s culture of wellbeing, teamwork and fitness while having fun on both land and water.  A range of programmes is available, catering for different fitness levels and adapted around your own team’s requirements.

The highly experienced water sports staff here will guide you through a day of sailing challenges, and will also incorporate tips on healthy living.  You’ll be well looked after here and of course life jackets etc. are compulsory, and this is a great way to get your team a little out of their comfort zone and really working together.  Just the simple act of getting the boats to move (via good oar technique) requires serious communication and awareness, and they will learn more about how they work together than they originally thought possible.

The Meridian Pull Challenge is Ahoy’s ultimate teamwork activity.  Six rowers and one coxswain in a fixed seat river rowing boat race through Central London, all the while taking in the stunning architecture and heritage of the city from a completely different perspective.  You have the opportunity to extend the experience and include an extra challenge here – a race between teams to see who can raise the most money via sponsorship in a certain amount of time for Ahoy, and then make this activity into a race.  All the facilities and legal requirements for this are already in place, and Best Venues London can help you to arrange this unique adventure quite easily.  You can then have a prize giving at Ahoy’s HQ, and enjoy a drinks and nibbles reception to congratulate your participants.

Ahoy has a fantastic range of small-scale boating activities as well.  Simply messing about on the river is fantastic fun, especially in the safety and professional environment of such a reputable sailing centre.  It’s a great breakout activity to enjoy during away days and training sessions, and the venue itself has more than enough space to house such events, and executes them successfully on a regular basis.

Simple but stylish and practical and with lovely water side views, The Seminar/Training room is equipped with WiFi, a good quality AV projector, and easy access to bathroom facilities.  In boardroom style you’ll seat 30, and in theatre style, 60.   There are also moveable partitions within the space, allowing you to divide it up as you see fit.

The Sir William Boreman Hall boasts panoramic views of the Thames, and lends itself to more formal affairs such as dining, social functions and small conferences.  There is a stunning outside balcony overlooking the river, extensive cloakroom facilities, and enough room for 200 people standing.  AV equipment, a sound system, microphones and a PA with projectors all come with the room, and the venue can accommodate up to 120 for a seated meal here.

Catering at Ahoy changes with the seasons – cold meats and salad with fruit and whipped cream in the summer months, with hearty casseroles, pies and curries being served in the winter.  Fresh Italian ground coffee and organic tea is available throughout your day, and a breakfast menu of granolas, pastries and breads is also easily arranged.

Call Best Venues London to learn more about hosting your team building experience at Ahoy, or to arrange a function in one of the two room available here!
