Where Can We Hold a 300-Person Conference Near Liverpool Street?

Finding a conference venue near Liverpool Street for 300 delegates should be quite easy. There are numerous event spaces in the city, there are numerous transport options and there are many places that advertise as being suitable for conferences. However, 300 delegates is an odd number. Many venues that appear suitable on paper may be too small once you take into account a proper stage, production, catering, and breakout rooms. Conversely, some venues are capable of accommodating 300 delegates with ease, but have been created to host significantly larger events; thus leaving a 300 delegate conference feeling lost in the space.

If we were tasked with finding a conference venue near Liverpool Street for 300 delegates, these are a few of the venues that we would consider.

Convene 155 Bishopsgate

For a simple corporate conference where location and logistical considerations rank high on the agenda, Convene 155 Bishopsgate would be one of the first venues that we would consider. It is located adjacent to Liverpool Street Station and contains a considerable amount of adaptable conference space. The Broadgate 2 room is capable of seating up to 325 individuals in a theatre configuration, and additional configurations are available if the event requires further space for catering, exhibition stands, or networking. Particularly beneficial to events requiring something other than a pure theatre-style setup is The Finsbury Suite, which can accommodate up to 480 individuals in a theatre configuration, or 300 individuals in a cabaret configuration. Additionally, Convene 155 Bishopsgate includes integrated audiovisual systems, break-out rooms, and in-house catering, making it an efficient option for organisers who wish to handle most aspects of their conference under a single roof.

We would consider it for: Corporate conferences, presentations, training events, and conferences requiring break-out or exhibition areas.

Why we would shortlist it: The location is exceptionally convenient and the venue is specifically tailored to meet the needs of business-related events. When logistics take precedence over uniqueness of location, Convene 155 Bishopsgate represents an excellent solution.

Convene 22 Bishopsgate

If the client requested something contemporary and impressive, we would recommend Convene 22 Bishopsgate. Situated within one of the City’s iconic tower structures, Convene 22 Bishopsgate consists of ten meeting and event spaces spread across two floors. The largest of these spaces is capable of accommodating slightly more than 400 attendees, therefore placing a 300-person conference comfortably within its capacity. The Bishopsgate Forum is capable of accommodating up to 405 individuals in a theatre configuration, and additional spaces are available for smaller sessions and meetings. Convene 22 Bishopsgate is a purpose-built corporate event facility featuring integrated technology, catering services, and event support staff.

We would consider it for: Leadership conferences, company-wide meetings, financial and professional service events, and conferences where the venue must impress.

Why we would shortlist it: You receive the benefits of a specialised conference facility without the event feeling impersonal.

Andaz London Liverpool Street

When accommodation is a key component of the client’s request, Andaz is worth thinking about. Close to Liverpool Street Station, Andaz is easily accessible for delegates coming from outside London, and it has a range of meeting and event facilities. For this specific scenario, we would recommend The Great Eastern. It is capable of accommodating up to 300 attendees and offers a more distinctive environment than a typical conference centre. In addition, Andaz offers guestrooms, dining options, and other event spaces throughout the hotel, enabling guests to remain on-site after the conference finishes  prior to attending dinner/reception events.

We would consider it for: Residential conferences, senior executive events, conferences followed by dinner/reception events, and events drawing attendees from outside London.

Why we would shortlist it: Location, accommodation and event space are contained within one property directly adjacent to Liverpool Street Station.

The Brewery

We would not limit our search to venues situated directly outside Liverpool Street Station; the Brewery on Chiswell Street is also worth consideration, especially if the organiser wants a venue with more character than a standard conference centre. The largest space at The Brewery is the Porter Tun, which can accommodate conferences ranging from approximately 300 delegates upward. The Brewery also has multiple other spaces that can be utilised for breakouts, catering, and related activities. The historic nature of the property offers a significantly different feel to the newer conference centres located near Bishopsgate.

We would consider it for: Conferences where ambiance is significant, company events, award ceremonies combined with daytime conferences, and events requiring multiple distinct spaces.

Why we would shortlist it: The Brewery provides a 300-person conference with a greater sense of formality/significance while remaining conveniently located relative to Liverpool Street Station, Moorgate Station, and Barbican Station.

Which Would We Select?

With 300 delegates, capacity is only part of the decision. If convenience of access and simplicity of logistics were the primary concerns of the client, we would suggest Convene 155 Bishopsgate.

If the client desired a more contemporary City-based location, we would seriously consider Convene 22 Bishopsgate.

If guestrooms were essential to the success of the conference, Andaz London Liverpool Street would become a good option.

Finally, if the client wanted a more unique conference experience/atmosphere and preferred a non-traditional conference venue, we would suggest The Brewery.

In addition to the above factors, our final suggestions would be based on another factor that is often overlooked – what the organiser and delegates actually need. There is no doubt that there are significant differences between the requirements of a conference where delegates sit on theatre-style seating throughout the entire conference day and those who need one main plenary room, four breakout rooms, an area for food/beverage service, an exhibition area and an evening reception.  Capacity alone very rarely determines if a conference venue will meet the needs of a specific conference.
